By night.

Ljubljana can really turn into a pretty emtpy and quiet city during the week. We made a short stroll tonight - to calm down a bit, to cool down a bit, to relax.

Of course, my cam had to go with me. Grainy, blurry, ISO1600 shots of (almost) empty Ljubljana. Or parts of it.

Yes, it looks really quiet. I like to go out in the dark when the heat is over too, but there are more people in the streets of my home town until midnight, and even later in the main street - in summer, of course.
But Photo No2 looks somehow too post-communist...could easily be part of the "local colour" here in Bulgaria...*sigh*

Well... to speak the truth - we took a quiet path that avoids all main streets, but it still felt unusally empty. City center is pretty alive still. :)

Photo No. 2... we went through the old part of the city, called Rožna dolina - The Rose Valley - full of houses from 20's and 30's and 40's... some are really nicely redone into VERY expensive apt buildings, some are still shabby. The game of light and shadows attracted me on that particular corner.

Yay! Where are those graffiti tunnels?

Also, I miss Rožna dolina.

I live in Rožna dolina. :)

Graffiti tunnels are on the way from the city centre to Tivoli.

I thought I recognized those tunnels! Good times walking through those tunnels for about a year. (not all at once)

I didn't know you lived in Rožna dolina! Two of the nicest walks I ever had in Slovenija were to and from Rožna dolina. It's such a beautiful area. Nice for you!

I always hit those tunnels when I go to work with my bicycle. :) And always through Tivoli. It is a lovely area, yes.

you are such a great photographer

Thanks, Corey. I am learning. And I think the only way to do it is to take way too many pics. And then...... in all those numbers, there is a good pic or two. :)

Cool. I like the wall with broken plaster. I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what the bottom picture is. Oddly, my ex's name is written on the wall. What's the other name on the wall? I can only see "bo." Hobo, perhaps? heh.
Sep. 11th, 2008 05:17 am (UTC)
Hehehehe I think it was Bobo, which is something that comes from the name Robert. And "Tamala" actually means "The little one".

There is a wall/pillar in the middle of the tunnel (you can see it on the 4th pic). It's got a hole and I took a picture of that hole looking at the actual side wall of that wall.

Thanks, bud! :)

It seems it was a good night for some pictures and my hand was firm, so not too much blur came out. :)

Amazing Photos! I am so glad that chose to take you camera for a walk this evening.

Hey, Cory! :) Glad you liked them. I am pretty satisfied with some pictures, too. No wonder I am still in love with my (new) cam. Taking pictures is so easy now.

I love the depth and texture in these photos. I'm considering upgrading to a DSLR soon. My ex has let me use his Nikon D80 on a couple of occasions. It puts my point and shoot to shame.Something to consider...

Thank you for sharing your photos with us, Tomaz.

Have a good morning!

Yes, DSLR is heaven. :) And well worth the money if taking pics gets you going. As it does to me. LOL

Oh, trust me, I will share more. :))))

And you sleep well, when you go to bed. I am off to work now........ UGH
