I did it again.

Yes. I did it again, although it was not as good as the first semester. So, we wrote the Italian test today and I left the second semester with 97 out of 100 points! YAY! I did it because of sibertater, I guess. He likes nerds. So he said.

Now, all I need to do is start using what I've learned. And this seems to be a pretty hard step.........

it's one of the things that the US is very deficient in... I suppose if each of the states had a different language we'd be more inclined to learn more.

All I know for sure as an American is that if someone speaks a different language you have to speak your English very LOUD and SLOW hehehehe (it's embarrassing how many times I've seen people do this... as if speaking louder will suddenly make everyone understand English LOL LOL )

AMEN! I used to see it all the time when I worked at an inner-city hospital.

Yes, you talking louder and slower helps...what are they deaf? Jesus.

I have a friend that does it one worse... he actually affects a fake accent. When we go to Chinese, Italian or Mexican food he literally takes on a fake Chinese etc accent while still speaking English... he honestly believes that will help them understand him. It's mortifyingly embarrassing, I won't even go out with him to eat any more LOL He is in many ways the typical "ugly American" when dealing with anything foreign :P

Oh. My. God. You're a wise man to order in with him.

I'm sometimes inappropriate, but not to that point. I wait until they're away from the table to use my bad accent.
