Dream house

It started with an idea. If I were ever to be rich enough to build a house of my own, it would probably be something like this:
- if only possible, all "rooms" should be in one single ample place (ok, apart from toilets - reasons are clear)
- every single room should be on a separate platform
- all those platforms should be connected with a central pillar-steps
- windows would be placed just where you need them, regardless the impresson from the outside
- a LOT of light
- so to speak: an ideal place for two egoistic persons, who like to share their time with friends.

I've never had the knowledge nor time to put these dream ideas in order untill I came across Sketchup. And after a period of getting-to-know-you-a-bit-better, I started building my dream Tower.

That's how it started: with steps, of course. It took me a day to come up with some reasonable design.

And then the actual house was "ready" for its shape. I was pathological enough to decide to fully furnish the interior as well. That's how it all looked, before I "closed" it.

And the final result is this:

Wireframe look - another proof of my pathological approach.

Ok....... it was fun! :) (at least LOL)

Yard-and-pool-and-garages side. :)

Joining me for lunch?

Pillar in action.

Just take it easy. :)

I think so, too. Airy is the word that comes to mind. Ok, and spacey :)

Our first project in undergraduate architecture school was to design a dream house. And, at the charrette, everyone's designs were torn to pieces.

Our second project was to design a home in a 20' x 20' x 20' cube. Try THAT! Fit everything you will need to survive into that size of a space.

even if they tore it to pieces..... I still had fun "buidling" my first house LOL

and I wouldn't even start thinking about that 20'x20'x20' thing. my claustrofeelingg would just start kicking in immediately. :)
