It was a very nice evening, I must say. Jaka and Peter invited us over for dinner and prepared a really nice meal. A nice evening altogether, and yet I managed to spoil it somehow, yet again. Yes, it's me and my big mouth and the fact that I do say just about anything that comes on my mind if I feel really comfortable with some people. So, what would be just a tiny, maybe a bit out of the cut remark in my book, seemed to be a major insult (obviously) to Jaka. And it was just potatoes. :) So, I guess it's my time to be sorry and I should maybe put a leash on the puppy next time I am about to spit out... god only knows what. :)

BUT!!!!!! I still think it was a really nice evening, even though the second round of Slovene Eurovision Song Contest pre-selection spoiled it a bit. It's almost touching to see so much bad music, bad choreography, bad haircuts and shitty singing in just one hour or so. The only shiny moment of the show - when the competition was over, one of the hosts said: "Well, it's carnival night and maybe you got some costume ideas on our stage". ROFLMAO!!!!!

Taken by pouting Jaka. :)

Sorry to hear that night was marred by a comment, Tomaz. At least it wasn't a complete loss :)

Have a great Sunday!

Oooh - I love Eurovision - I was quite excited last year when I was able to watch it on the web. I have fond memories of actually seeing Abba win in the early 70s (yes, I'm that old!), and then in the 80s, the BBC started to treat it a little less seriously, and we have a commentator who makes the funniest comments as the show goes on - wish I could watch the BBC version to hear him again.

Were you happy that your neighbor won last year, or is there still some strong rivalry? Will you go to Belgrade and be part of the madness?

Well, I don't really love Eurovision, becase it's got hardly anything to do with music, I think. But if there's nothing else around, I watch it.
About Belgrade... there are some vague plans to go there during Eurovision, not to see the actual festival, but to be enjoy all the partying and all. And as far as ex-Yugoslav countries go: Slovenia probably has biggest problem with its neighbour, Croatia, relationship with Serbia is a good one, given the circumstances.

Oh, yes - it definitely seems that the music takes a second seat to the craziness now - I blame all the gay Euro boys myself... :-) I did like Serbia's winning entry last year - is she lesbionic?! I also like Georgia's, which I think I linked to in my LJ post. I thought she was very beautiful, and the song was quite exciting (helped by Georgian dancing boys..!)

That surprises me re Serbia and Croatia - I would have thought that all the countries that broke away from Serbia would have (to varying degrees) some rivalry/animosity toward it. What's the problem between Slovenia and Croatia?

Maria from Serbia, yes, I think she drinks from the furry cup. :)

Well, ex-Yu countries realised they have to have some sort of sustainable relationship, not least because of all the economy that had to survive bad years.
Slovenia and Croatia - borders issues still not completely at terms; Croatia just imposed a special fishery/economic protection zone that's not something really common in the EU; some money/banks related issues....... you name it. :)

Serbia's choreography was certainly very lesbionic - women in suits, all huddled around Maria, touching each other... :-)

Seeing that Croatia wants to join the EU, it doesn't seem like a good move to impose barriers or dispute borders at the same time it's trying to become a member.

yes... Croatian moves caused a lot of dispute these days, especially because of the fact Slovenia is running the presidency to the EU now, meaning we have a bit more to say and with a bit more "weight".

I have been known to offend on occasion by saying something offensive too.

I know you may find that hard to believe.

[misses you]

do you think other people would have taken your remark that way Jaka did or is he just a bit sensetive?

... hmmm ... I have a man in the house making "funny" comments on my cooking, so, I think I'd understand Jaka ... ;)

EMA - how the competition for the Eurosong is called in Slovenia - was quite interesting in some ways. First, there were some nacionalistic "funny" coments from the hosts, but especially, cause a Roma group entered into superfinals ... and we are really, REALLY not known as Roma loving nation. Especially in the last years.

Of course Viki and me had a kind of "verbal fight" at the end, but that's normal in our fammily!

And now - it's Serbian election results time!

and I am still deeply, deeply ashamed because of Ema. Everything sounded like an aural sewage. I skipped the finals.

Hey, this photo of you and Igor is sexy! :)

And that look on his face makes me laugh at the same time.

(Yes, here I am looking at your entries from before I knew you and shamelessly copying photos. And I LOVE photos of the two of you together.)
