Hello again, LJ Land!

Yes, all good things come to an end and so did this year's summer vacation. I did this "print screen" on Monday, having in mind I will also prepare this "restart" post earlier. To be honest, I needed a few seconds before I was ready to do that ctrl-alt-del thing. But, of course, work never disappoints and so it all kept me very, very, very busy for the rest of the week.

Anyway, there is a huge selection fo pictures already in a flickr set, so I am only going to give you a few highlights from one of the most beautiful, most relaxing, most satisfying vacations ever. LOL I guess I say that every time I come home from the holidays, but these Summer it really felt we've (we being Iggy, Berti, Ricky and me) been away for ages, so I guess that's a good feeling. And it seems a "classical" programme never fails really. Italy, France and Croatia.

It all started in Slovenia with some whitewater rafting on River Soča. It always takes my breath away, it's so beautiful there.

Trenta - River Soča.

And then it was time to pack and go to Genova for a quick stop and then it was off to France, to enjoy the best hospitality in the hands of André and Olivier and to do some sightseeing in Provence. Due to the heat, it ended up as more pool time... LOL Dream, as always.

Happy Three.

And then it was time for the Italian part of vacation. We explored Liguria a bit more than usual and discovered some real gems along the coast. And some in the hills. And, of course (which is "valid" also for France): divine food.

The best possible sentence.

And after Italy... Croatia. Island Brač. Just about as good as it gets...

Bol - The most common view.

So, as I said, check flickr if you want to see many many many more pics and... here I am again. Starting all over, right? I hope your ctrl-alt-del thing after vacation was/is/will be easier...

Summer was wonderful. And it's 10C outside and it's raining. Some turn of the events. :)

And ENJOY your time off, Shimmer.

And we are just getting ready to leave on vacation. It looks like you had a wonderful time.

Can I come, can I come, pleeeeaaaaseee? :)
Aug. 26th, 2012 11:50 pm (UTC)
You are more than welcome to come. There will be big bad motor-bikers but don't worry, I'll take good care of you.

So I am safe. :)

What, you on LJ? *gasp* LOL

Ah, the sea... :)

I'll be very lucky if I get to see the Black sea for one afternoon in early September.

Otherwise my "vacation" was just surviving the heat at home during the obligatory no-work period in August (to be fair, there was a short period of bearable temperatures after the rain on 11th). Now we'll see how good I am at translation while it's still terribly hot and I'm in Slow Motion Mode. :)

It's been a really hot and dry Summer. Till tonight. Now it's raining and it's 10C.... Sheesh. Some Summer. LOL

I'm still waiting for some relief of the heat from hell. Let's hope that the weather forecast is accurate because a maximum daytime temperature of 32C looks like a bliss to me now :)

I slept through the hottest part of today, so I don't know if it was 37C or 40C outside. The summers here are typically hot and dry, but this year's heat was just too much.

Also here. We hit 38 during some days. Way too hot for this part of the world.
Aug. 26th, 2012 10:56 pm (UTC)
That would be normal for a week or two in late July and/or early August here, but it lasted too long this year. The daytime maximum didn't fall below 36C for most of July and August.

We are having a bit of wind and even less rain right now. It's 26C on the balcony and I just want to see there and cool down because it's not going to last.

or jump in cold shower :)

Looks like an Absolutely Fabulous time. The Bol images make look especially enticing. I think I might be able to talk Brian into a visit there - he LOVES warm, sunny seasides.
Aug. 26th, 2012 09:22 pm (UTC)
So, what else do I have to post, so that we can entice Brian? :)

How wonderful - and civilized. I love that most of Europe takes off a full month for "holiday" yet we toil away in the US no matter what anymore. That water in the first photo is SO clear! Here is hoping I get to see some of those same sights one day, particularly the Adriatic coast. I am guessing if I am that close, I best say hello to you as well!
Aug. 26th, 2012 09:23 pm (UTC)
The water.... was clear and it had 9C.... but it didn't stop me. I was jumping in all the time. In think layer of neoprene, of course. LOL

Yes, you should really come and see all that. And... I am waiting. :)
