Just an F-Blog #51. Pula.

Yes, I might show you my sunburnt face tomorrow, together with a smile, but for today here's a selection of pics from this weekend. Whole set, as might even become the norm, Flickr'd, here's a selection...
We visited two friends in Pula, Croatia, Igor and Ivica (yes, another Igor) and they showed us around a bit. Nice city (that would need a lot of maintenance though) and really, really nice nature. Pula, almost on the peak on Istra (Istria) peninsula offers, amongst other sights, also a nicely preserved Roman arena. So, let me take you with me on some sun...

The old arena in Pula.

Sign'o'the times.

Triple I - Igor, Igor and Ivica.

Looking Out, #1.

Doors of time.

Beautiful secret.

Those are indeed beautiful photos!

Well, I am really happy if I can bring some of my world over to you!

Now I wish anything on the site of my home town hadn't been destroyed over and over again, including the Roman city of Augusta Traiana. We don't have much left of it:
(And yes, the grid street plan of the modern town was made under the Roman model on purpose when it had to be rebuilt after it was last destroyed in 1877).

Lovely photos, thank you for sharing. :)

Oh, the sea is beautiful... but I wouldn't dip my foot in it yet. :)

Which one is the other Igor?

There are still a lot of Roman remains here in Ljubljana, which used to be called Emona.

Sea was still a bit cold, but if I had a towel with me.....

Pic: from L to R: Igor, Iggy, Ivica. :)

Beautiful...just lovely. I visited Pula about 30yrs ago and loved it then. The coast looks so nice and inviting, and I love the B & W shots too. Handsome men too!

But I am sad to see that Croatia and Slovenia that once used to be side to side in all matter have now drifted quite apart. Croatia needs a lot of fresh money. The nature is still amazing, though. :)

Wait... every time I see Croatian beaches on American TV, they have to pixelate the naughty bits out of the picture - because there seldom seem to be clothes present.

So...why are YOURS on!?!

Cause I am just soooooooooooooooo decent.

But wait till Summer comes. HA! :)
