It's good to be back.

Yes, it's a crappy mobile phone picture, but at least it's something. :)

This was probably one of the strongest concert experiences ever. Skunk Anansie got back together again after quite some years and they are touring Europe now. They came to Ljubljana on Thursday. Ok, technically it was Friday, since they got on stage at 1am. :)

My, my, what a concert that was. Powerful, strong, accurate and the audience really followed every single second of it, from Selling Jesus as an opening song to Secretly as the third of their return to the stage. We just didn't want to let them go. Skin was at her best, a volcano of energy and the guys just followed the lead. I have to say it was also a rather emotional concert. Skin, also known for not treating the public too kindly now and then, was apparently surprised and taken by the enthusiasm we all showed. Yes, "It's good to be back" was what she said before Hedonism, the first of their returns. And there was also "You're wonderful, where have we been all these years?"

I am not much of a concert person, but I have to say I am really happy that some of my all time favourite bands came to Ljubljana and Skunk Anansie just rule my throne now, a Trinity with Morcheeba and Massive Attack, I'd say. And YouTube just exploded with videos from their Ljubljana act. So, here's one. Guy apparently had a good equipment with him. :)

Just because you feel good
Doesn't make your right, oh no
Just because you feel good
Still want you here tonight

I have to say I rarely go to a concert. It has to be really something I totally want to see. Crowd just kills all the fun, but Skunk were so great, I just let it all go with the flow. An amazing night.

I like smaller shows (20 - 200 ppl) - larger ones are a bummer. I'm not super familiar w/ Skunk Anansie either. I heard them a while ago when the US label tried getting them popular here but that was it. Is there a record in particular you're recommend starting with?

The drummer is pretty hot in this vid you posted :)

Well Skunk Anansie were definitely worth some jumping in the crowd. I was so happy to be able to finally see them I just didn't mind. :) I think you could start with their recently released greatest hits CD Smashes And Trasher. It gives a nice overview and they played most of those songs in Ljubljana.

Yes, drummer is hot And he turned 40 on that evening. So, there's still hope for us, freshly 40s in this world........ :)
