No November gloom. At all.

I looked outside my office windows and I liked the view and I am sharing it with you. And then it made me think...

Heavy clouds are plaguing the sky over Ljubljana and the colours have all but left the city , but we've been pretty lucky so far. November can be one of the most depressing months in this city weather-wise. This are first serious clouds of the month and hey! we nearly ran out of November.

It's really funny when I come think of me about a year ago and now. I guess that November/December last year presented probably the darkest period of my life. I just didn't know what to do with my job that - after two years - started to seriously pushing me into something that was the closest approximation of depression. But I didn't fall over the edge and I would surely never look for the helps of any kind of drugs. I had to fight my way out, I just had to do it my usual way. But I needed five more months and when I finally resigned from my bossy position in May (a relaxing week in Tuscany surely helped me making the right decision; I opted for life) my life turned into something totally different.

Well, it returned to my usual, careless, happy, joie de vivre mode. And since then everything seems to be working okay. So I guess this is a kind of my late thanksgiving lament; I am thankful for all the nice things that happened in the last year. Oh, also for the bad stuff, because it made me re-evaluate my life, my goals, my priorities. So, there. Even I can stray from flashing. Sometimes.

- I prefer myself at 39 than at 29.
- I can tan, yes. :)

And good morning.

Re: les confidences quand on ne dort pas :p
clothes: you can still buy that stuff. - Where??? In Russia? :-.D Curiously, some of the Russians here wear the same pants. But I assure you you won't find those pants at Gap! They must have brought them over? Those pants must be the Central/Eastern European contribution to menswear :-.p Do dykes wear them there? Dykes wear all menswear here.

hair, not wig. HELLO!? :) - LOL I was teasing! But that was good, huh? :-.D

I prefer myself at 39 than at 29. - Me too. GOD, YES!

O no you didn
This is Europe, hon. :) - Errr, don't even go there. I'll crush you - gnagnagnagna (fumanchu laugh)

You mean you're "near" Europe :p How far are you from Milan? What's Ljubljana fashion week like? It's not on our int'l calendar of fairs/shows which all fadshun industry's professionals around the world use to coordinate press and buying trips (i.e. Paris, London, Milan, Florence, Tokyo, Hong Kong...)

What kind of shops do you have there? If G-Star is the ultimate, you've got a long way to go. HONEY! :-.D)) And if you tell me Emporio Armani, I KNOW it's the left-overs from Italy that they can't sell! I know this because I get stocklists from them just about every week begging us to take it @ 1/2 price (wholesale including freight) because they can't sell that shit anywhere in Western Europe so they need to dump it somewhere, but we won't take it because it's UGLY and the Chinese here have copied it last year from runway and sell it on the street pavement all over Chinatown for less than 5 bucks (!!!), so they send that shit out to Eastern Europe where the fadshun people eat it all up.

Tell me I'm wrong :-,D

Who's a Slovenian designer? And if there is one or a group, what kind of stuff does he/she/they do? If it's like most of the Russians' (which I've seen plenty of) they can stay there! LOL

ANSWER EVERY QUESTION PLEASE.

OMG, you've set loose the French fadshun bitch in me! LOL

Last thing first... I am the journalist here, so I have my own way of dealing with questions and answers. Is that settled? Ok. Let's move on. :)

And... This is Europe. Ljubljana is closer to West than Vienna, for instance. Google it, dammit. LOL And Milano is a mere 5 hours' drive from Ljubljana and I actually know a number of people who do their regular couture trips to Milano. And Slovenia, being a country with its 2M population, probably isn't a market profound enough to deserve a proper fashion thing. Not that I miss that anyway. G-Star... I mentioned it as my main choice for totally everyday, casual wear. I wasn't making such a big statement out of it. LOL And you can buy stuff like D&G, Cerutti, Missoni, Prada, Versace... in Ljubljana.

Slovenian designers.... Ok, when it comes to fashion, one name pops in mind instantly. Lara Bohinc.

Re: O no you didn
I am the journalist here - But not the only one. Wanna see my credentials? I just don't do politics or anything boring like that. I report on fadshun. I just don't brag about it. That's awl. hehehe.

And... This is Europe. Ljubljana is closer to West than Vienna, for instance. Google it, dammit. LOL - But I'm not talking about geography, fool! I'm talking about fadshun capital and cache clout. Hello???

And Milano is a mere 5 hours' drive from Ljubljana - We'll see when I'm back in Italy? Soon enough :-.)

and I actually know a number of people who do their regular couture trips to Milano. - then you'd better introduce them to my ishop when I open. eh-hehehe! BTW, Milan does not do couture. They're pret-a-porter. The very few "couture" houses there - if they still exist - are rather old in style and mentality. Not exactly prime time.

And Slovenia, being a country with its 2M population, probably isn't a market profound enough to deserve a proper fashion thing. - WRONG! 2M people is a lot of people. Further, markets are not determined by number of inhabitants, but number of consumers. Is Vienna more the same size as Ljubljana or Slovenia? No matter which, Vienna is an important int'l fadshun market with regard to trends and consumption and Austrian designers are world-famous: Helmut Lang and Carol Christian Poell (the latter is cult in Milan and whose amazing clothes I would like to carry for my ishop. His hand-cut and sewn leather jackets ROCK!). The same can be said for Geneva, Bern and other places in the region. Como is a market.

Not that I miss that anyway. - O, please! Liar :-,0) anybody who wears those pants and says that they don't care about fadshun is so full of FAD-SHUUUUUNED!

G-Star... I mentioned it as my main choice for totally everyday, casual wear. - It's not a bad brand. But that's not all there is to FADSHUN LIFE - gay or str8.

I wasn't making such a big statement out of it. LOL - Okee-dokee. I forgive you. So long that you know when to bow - ahehehehe! ;-.0)

And you can buy stuff like D&G, Cerutti, Missoni, Prada, Versace... in Ljubljana. - Yeah, the stuff nobody wants! LOL

Lara Bohinc - I'll let you off easy this time. But don't evah irk my Versace fadshun wrath again! EVAAAAH! READ: Fay Dunaway/Mommie Dearest (I'm chuckling so hard I can hardly type).
. First of all, her only shop is on Sloane St in London. That's not Ljubljana. IS IT?!! Whatsup with that? Don't nobody buying her jewelry in Lube-Johnny?
. Secondly, she's a jewelry designer. We were talking about fadshun. But that's ok, I'm not gonna be picky because I love my little Tomasino :-,0)
. Thirdly, I have to say that aside from one pair of tassle earrings on her website, I'm not dropping my jaw.

So. THERE! gnagnagnagna!... (fumanchu laugh away)

Last saving grace point: Are there any factories in Slovenia, scoop?

Fadshun. I report serious stuff, c'mon. :) Which covers a lot, right? And I ain't liar, ain't, ain't, ain't. :) And now it's my turn to Google a load of names you mentioned, because they surely don't ring any bells here. Sorry, I told you, right?

And, yes, I will do my best to appear in Italy if the gods of time approve it.

Lara....... is good. :)

Factories? No, why? It's all agriculture here.

fucking with the little Tomazino... a little :-.D
Fadshun. I report serious stuff, c'mon. :) Which covers a lot, right? - Fadshun is serious stuff! Gasp. Bite your tongue :-.) In the US, you kind of have to specialize in any field because of contacts... Otherwise, it's harder to get through the door. But yet, some people do cross-journalism. But they are rare. Mostly "celebtity" journalists and journalism. RIB: You sure write "brief" for a journalist! JUST KIDDING :-0)

And I ain't liar, ain't, ain't, ain't. :) - OK, OK, OK. Gosh, I've made the little Tomazino cry. HeHEheHE!... XO.

And now it's my turn to Google a load of names you mentioned, because they surely don't ring any bells here. - How can they? They do real fadshun! LOL Please google them up. Later, I'll post some stuff in my blog so we can have fun and learn - ahem! :-0.) But it'll have to be after finals here = crazy buzy right now. But these designers exist. I can't believe you haven't heard of Helmut Lang? He's from Austria and was bought by Prada along with Jil Sander (in Hamburg, surely you've heard of her?!!?) But Jil Sander (my fashun hero) had the audacity to fight the system and walked away from her contract causing a fadshun story shitstorm. It was an industry's scandal! But after a long stand-off, she finally won and is now back to designing the collection (with another person) = she made fadshun history.
NOTE TO SCOOP: The one thing you can rely on me is that if I tell you it's true, then it's true. If I lie, I'll smile, and you'll know it. But never worry about my credibility. It's as flawless as my couture, baby! :-0.)

And, yes, I will do my best to appear in Italy if the gods of time approve it. - Huh? I don't understand this. Explain.

Lara....... is good. :) - Mah!... Ok. I accept for your national pride :-0)

Factories? No, why? It's all agriculture here. - Well, no wonder! Those pants = the perfect peasant look! LOOOOL

JUST FUCKING WIT CHU!!! XOXOXO

Sorry seems to be the word to say (music)
I deleted my stupid lecture post for which I am mortified because I DON'T KNOW HOW TO READ! Self-slapped.

But I'll save these links for our general info :-.)

I love what Jil Sander does for Uniqlo, don't you? Do you have Uniqlo there? It's a smart Japanese retail chain that has a shop here in NY. Their cashmere is good and cheap. Also some fun t-shirts. They always have some of the most spot-on fadshun items at really reasonable prices.
