Seasons change.

Last week we were really enjoying fantastic late summer weather with temperatures up to 25C/77F and then the rain came and temperatures really dropped. We're enjoying a clear, sunny day today, but northern winds really brought lower temps. I think it's 6C/43F now and mountains just outside the city are showing their first snow...

The wind and rain came here too yesterday, and the Indian summer ended. It's 14C on our balcony. We expect more rain.

You mountains snow is beautiful, but I don't want winter, brrrr cold! :)

That building on the left - we have that style here in Bulgaria too.

I'm envious that you've got snowy mountains off in the distance. I love the mountains.
Same thing here has happened in the past few days...crisp,lovely early fall has given way to a week of damp, gray, drizzly weather. However, it is not uncommon to have one or two more bouts of warm summer-like weather in late October before the summer gives it up for another year...

I also notice from this picture that Ljubljana lives up to it's tourist-friendly description on wikitravel. Nice wide sidewalks and manageable traffic. Easy public transport. Signs for bus and railway are written in english as well.
I wanna go!

Nice picture. It's cool to see all the difference between our worlds. I don't know of any other place where the street lights are strong on a cable over the street like that. Very nice background with the snow capped mountains.

Weather here today is rain and 53°F/11°C. Supposed to be like this the rest of this week. We need rain though.

Viki and Mitja are going to have a bit of a shock coming home after the lovely weather they experienced here. If it's any consolation, you can tell them that much of California has just been hit by its first winter storm - very heavy rain, in some places with a danger of mudslides. We got a pretty mild sprinkling here in San Diego.

I love this picture. It almost looks like another time and not the present.
Love it!
Also, what are those things hanging on the wires above the street?

Thanks, David. It's the old part of Ljubljana's city centre. And those things are old street lights. :)

Wait... paved streets? Sidewalks? Tailored clothing? Multilevel buildings? Written language? You don't live in a Third World Country.

Next you'll be telling me you have television, and internet. ;)

Psssssssssst I stole this pic from one of the sites. And it's really such a burden to catch a horse cart to take me to Italy every day to one of those... howwudyacallit... internet cafes to post. :)

Wow! I actually recognize that street! Downtown Ljubljana near the park, a couple of blocks from the river, if I remember correctly, yes? The last time I saw it, there was snow on the street.

And if things continue like that.... we might have some snow in a month or so. :)
