Summer is (more or less) over.

Well, I am going back to work tomorrow. Three weeks of my vacation time are over. This is just a tiny selection of some pics and moods and feelings of Summer 09. I used Skye Edwards' Jamaica Days as a music background. Lyrics don't really tell the story I was after, but melancholy of the sound just got me.

Summer09 from Tomaz Celestina on Vimeo.

Full, downloadable version is here.

This is only magnificent. Beautiful images, precision editing and a perfect soundtrack. You are such a talented man.

But hang on! My summer's not over until I have a summer holiday. So when I come back (from Berlin, of course) on 22 September, I'll revisit your fantastic video and remind myself that summer is a thing of the past.

Thanks, C.! You always say the nicest things. I have to say the song itself just made me do this compilation of pics. I was listening to it in my hammock on island Rab and pictures just started falling together. But I will think I will do a better, more "polished" version soon. :)

Thanks again!

And I am (again) envious because of your trip to my favourite city.......... :)

Thank you for sharing...3 weeks of vacation, huh?

That sounds nice!

Most welcome, Paul! :) I always take three weeks off during the summer. I think that's the only way I can empty my head before crazy Autumn buzz.

Thanks, Matt! :) I like to play with different media. You really don't need much to achieve some surprising emotional effect. I didn't know what to do with my rollerskating pics, so I just made them look old. Distant locations...... they are still here for you to visit and see them. And you have a local guide in central part of Europe. :)

Thanks, Pete! Yes, summer was full and intense and I am not it's slowly over, I am just a bit melancholic. It was emotionally charged and the song was just the right one to say goodbye.

Most welcome and, of course, anytime I manage to come up with some pics. :)

Absolutely beautiful, Tomaz. Absolutely beautiful.

Thanks, really. It was an emotional summer and I felt like I need to find a way to say some kindof goodbye to it.

I really enjoyed that - and yeah the music was very interesting. I liked it, but it certainly set a mood of cherished moments gone by. Hugs!

I am happy you like it, J. Music...... the song was the initial push I started thinking that I wanted to do something with my summer. Tender, soft, even if a little "gone by"....

HUGS back!

*is absolutely fascinated with the video*

It's beginning to get slightly autumnal here. The days have become noticeably shorter, the evenings are cooler. I'm still not ready for the end of summer...

Thanks, Dari! It was a "strong" summer, one of the strongest so far. It needed a proper farewell, methinks.

All is still green and in full summer bloom here, but days are shorter and it's getting fresher. Summer is slowly saying goodbye in inland Slovenia...

This is the best part when it's not so damn hot in the evenings. It's a pity that it doesn't last long.

Once August is over, the change of seasons can happen very rapidly here at any time. You think, I was still wearing my summer clothes yesterday, and now it's too damn cold for them.

My "personal" summer started too late, what with exams and all. I'm not ready for it to end yet. I want to go to the seaside for one more day... I don't know if I'll manage it.

You know, you can still jump in the sea in September here....... :)

It varies here. Some years you can, others the weather is too bad.
Aug. 24th, 2009 12:30 pm (UTC)
I did it in november already.

what a lovely post summer, post.
Great images that capture the fun and adventure, and a soft sentimental goodbye to the season.
