Two years.

Yes, two years have passed since my first post on LJ. And I need to thank my LJ-patron John aka DrE aka jawnbc  for that. We used to talk a lot on ispq two and more years ago (it's not the case anymore), also about LJ, and the fact he visited Igor and me seemed a good push to start my own LJ.

Looking back to what happened with my blog in the past two years is somehow funny. I still remember the frustration that lasted for more than half a year, because no matter what I did, my LJ stayed pretty close to dead. I guess I am still trying to find the right content, for I wouldn't want to end up in endless flashing, because let's face something rather obvious. Blogging is about creativity, ok, also venting, but it's all about interaction. If it weren't for that, we'd probably still write our secret diaries, dreading the day (or maybe secretly wishing) someone might see our darkest wishes, images, desires... Or maybe just post short meaningless sentences on Facebook. So, yes, two-way approach is the thing. If you want your ego to be caressed, you just need to do the same with others. And I think I am a loyal blogger, meaning I do all that two-way lane thing. Up to a point.

Anyways..... I am having fun with LiveJournal and I think I will definitely stay here. It's been a fun trip and I truly hope for much more to come. Ok, I think I might clean up my f-list a bit, because I always prefered content over form, quality over sheer numbers. I am happy I am member of a really fine group of people on here, people I can really call my friends. People who are, as my friends always tend to be, the essence of my life. In one form or another. Emotions are universal and they know no boundaries.

Ok, to round this lament up, here are three pictures. The first one is from my first post, the second one is from the post closest to my 1st anniversary post and the third one was taken a few minutes ago. Oh my, have times (and faces) have changed...

Happy Anniversary! As I've said before, I wish you'd started posting on LJ in Feb or March '07, because then there would have been a good chance I'd have friended you before my trip to your city in May of that year - on your birthday, to be precise! Oh, well - one of these days I'll get back there, I'm sure.

I'm glad you enjoy LJ - me too. I know a few people have left, or greatly reduced their presence on LJ in favor of FB, since they prefer leaving short 'status messages' as opposed to writing at more length about things. I use FB a little, mainly for status updates e.g., "I'm on my way to Montreal with bear_left" - but to write in detail about the trip, LJ is the place for me.

I like your mix of telling us about your life in Ljubljana, and the pictures you post (and yes, I do like the flashes!) - glad it's working for you, and hope you continue. I think interaction is important, but I admit that in most cases, I'm writing something to commemorate it for me, so I have a record of where and when something happened, what happened, and what I felt about it. I definitely like to interact, and appreciate it when people feel that a post was interesting enough to get them to respond, but ultimately, my posts are for my own middle-aged memory.... :-)

Thanks, Roy! You know, it's actually funny. I opened my LJ account sometimes early in 2007, but I just didn't feel like I should really start blogging. Yet, it happened, just a tad too late for us to meet in Ljubljana. But I am sure it will happen.

LJ vs FB - no doubt what I am going to do about it. I am a loyal LJer and I plan to stay that way, not least because I am not really that much "status oriented". I don't my LJing will change much. Yes, it will still be about my life and I will try to stay away from pute "updating". I hate the word, we live and experience, not update. LOL

A couple of the obvious things...

You are a really kind mand and, yes, I am extremely, extremely happy that you managed to step from WWWorld into my World. And, yes, you surely are one of the most amazing people I have ever met.

And cheers to C and B! :)

PS And I think of you so often.........

Happy LJ anniversary! It takes some time to hit a stride, but I believe you've done it.

Yes, yes, and now I've got no self-respect left.

bwahahahahahaha :)

I'm so glad you are here Tomaz, and so glad you didn't leave like you had considered a while back. You bring a smile into my life more often than I can say. And you are just sexy as all get out on top of it all. Happy anniversary my friend xoxoxoxoxo

If I can make you smile now and then, I am doing all I wanted to do. "People should smile more" is one of the songs I really like, also because of the message it brings. Sexy... look who's talking. :)

Thanks, J.! :) my content is safe. If WWW goes to hell, I also have .pdf editions saved, so - in many, many years, when I growe up - I will at least be able see what a looney I have been.

And Bob and Dom are two really extraordinary men.

I am happy to have met you.

You should come here..... And I hope you will. You'd love it. Some interesting cars here, you know. ;)

Ahh - you're such an LJ baby! I've been here since 2003! I go through phases of posting but tbh the main reason I don't post or really comment much any more is cause I can't really look at LJ from work (not actually blocked, but non-work browsing is frowned upon). I mainly seem to be reading in the evenings or at lunch on my iPhone. I go through phases and while a lot of the original people I came here with have moved elsewhere (or just stopped using the 'net in the same way) I'm trying to re-engage a bit with the LJ community again. I'd forgotten how you can make good friends very quickly through this blog-cum-social networking site :)

Interested to see that you joined just as it started to take off in the former Eastern Block...

I am not such a baby..... two years are two years. LOL And even they blocked LJ here at work, I always have my tiny netbook with me, so I am always available. :) And I have also experienced some phases, when I wasn't really sure whether I want to go on with my LJ or not, but I still think it's worth the try and effort. I have met some really good people on here and I surely don't want to lose them. You included.

My journal is a little more than a year old now. I edited my profile bio today, and made all those subtle hints explicit. LOL And now I see this post from you.

How it is that I've known you for less than a year? You feel so much like an old time-tested friend! Well, there was some testing, remember? ... not that I meant to test you, but things somehow got out of my control at that time.

I'd been only for a few months on LJ when I met you, and not quite knowing what I was doing here. It was an experiment/adventure that led to totally unexpected results, but I am very pleased with them.

I met most of my LJ friends through you, for which I am very grateful.

Yes, it was a beautiful wedding. Incredibly beautiful. And you looked a bit like a pirate, LOL.

Yes, time goes by, but you are just as handsome. :)

And you know I just HAVE to say this: I LOVE YOU. :)
Jul. 9th, 2009 09:53 am (UTC)
Less than a year, yes, but it's been really, really intense, so a lot can "happen" even in just a few months. And I am pretty aware of that beginners phase on LJ, when things just don't click. Now they do and I am happy for that. :)

Happy Anniversary !!
I'm going on 4 years, myself.. I've been a lot less 'posty' lately, but it's reassuring to know some of my old pals are still around - for that, I thank you! xx oo

Happy 2nd Anniversary, T! I always look forward to the surprises and delights from your LJ posts ;)

I've been involved with LJ since sometime in 2006 (when, I'm not exactly sure. That was a long time ago, lol...)
As I've said before, I enjoy LJ for the more extensive interaction and learning about others that FB really doesn't provide.

You know, in a way, LJ has become something like a daytime tv serial, "soap operas" as we called them in the USA. You get hooked and you can't wait to find out what happens next. That keeps you coming back everyday to find out the rest.

You've become one of my very favourite channels, I'd say!
Jul. 9th, 2009 09:59 am (UTC)
Thanks, D! :) And LJ is something rather similar to me as it is to you. I just browse through my f-list and read what has been going on with people that are becoming an important entity in my life. And I like it more and more. "One of my favourite channels" - that really made my day.

Thanks, B.! I would love LJ to be mixture and mess such as my head. :) There's a lot that makes me tick, a lot that have some sort of an impact on my life and my feelings and emotions and I will still try to pour those experiences on my blog. I am trying to stay away from "updating" and similar, because it probably wears out sooner or later.
Photo challenges. I need to find the right picture. :)
