20 000. Well, almost.

Yes, my old webpage, Paterson's Place on The Web, is going to hit 20 000 visitors soon. I think that's quite a nice number for a not-really-listed, not-really-part-of-any-webring, not-really-gay-profile page. I started it on 30 October 2001, meaning it's going to be seven years old on the day when my feet hit Malta.

I had a lot of fun working on that page - I started it with html-coding, I learned how to work on pics through updating, I learned about basics of Flash animation... all in all I think it means more to me than just an ordinary pre-defined webpage template that you can use and reuse. I am still paying for the webspace, because I want to keep it ad-free. I tried to update it regularly, but this just stopped in April 2006 - I guess a combination of stress at work and not enough time for time-consuming animated galleries and who knows what else did it. And I plan to keep it. First and foremost it's a dear collection oh photography, but it goes beyond that. Personally, I see it as a very precious collection of memories about my trips, friends, even as a collection of my almost forgotten attempts at clumsy writing, I even played with some music - ok, samples and stuff, I posted some of my drawings (the thing that's still in my fingers and I will go back to it, even though I gave it a sudden halt in the early 90's). Hey, I even "recorded" the Baptism of my gnome on that page!!! :)

There is a lot of me in my old page. And I can easily turn mellow when I browse through my life stored there. So, if you want to know more about what used to make me tick (and it still does it somehow), feel free to do it. And I am still grateful to jawnbc to pull me into the world of LiveJournal. It makes my online presence much, much easier and more convenient. He still is and always will be my LJ-father. And my first post was, of course, dedicated to him. :)

Yay! 20,000 now! ;-)

Great site, and all those lovely pictures!

I'm really surprised that you started your LJ not that long ago: it feels like you've been doing this for much longer.
You are a natural at blogging, and we all love your journal (and you, of course!).

OMG the baptism of your gnome was SO hilarious! And you are very good at drawing!

I'll read your "clumsy writing" when I have the time to do it properly.

Do keep that website, it's worth keeping!

Yes..... the Gnome - my Aeghidius. It was one of the craziest things I've ever done. :) Also a move exists. And it's just great.

I think we'll do first communion next summer. LOL
