Monday is over.

Yes, it's a minute past midnight, meaning my Monday is officially over and done. It was quite a burden, I must say. For employed at the RTV S - which stands for Radio and Televizija Slovenija - this Monday happened to be the first day of introduction of new salaries system. I guess some guys at the top really fucked it up, but for "my" 20 journalists I was the one who needs the hear it all. And I heard it all. Oh boy, I did. And then some of the people started acting really mature, playing insulted madonna's, entering silent minutes (and hours) and such. And as if that weren't enough, we're finishing our weekend work - it's election weekend and coordinating some 30 journalists' work is a task. Day was loaded with meetings. And as if that weren't enough, it was another cold, 10C/50F day. And is that weren't enough, a long translation waited for me at home.

But... Monday is over now and I am already smiling on my way to another morning. Oh, no, you cannot beat me that easily.

(Almost) Obligatory pics - two Ljubljana details: a majestic Art Deco portal and a little dragon (dry) fountain.

Youzers! What a day! And it only ended at 12:00? My God. Mondays for me end right when I leave work. :o) The rest of the evening is just, well, not Monday.

Well.... I closed my Monday book at five minutes to midnight. So, practically till midnight, yes.

But as I said, I will try to make Tuesday whole lot better! :)

Sorry you had such a lousy day - very unfair that you get the heat for the decisions of your bosses - and how childish of your colleagues to behave in such a way.

Hopefully, you got 'something' that took your mind off that for a few minutes.. :-)

I look forward to hearing all about the election - you'll have to tell us what's going on. What's your prediction?

Yes... my Monday was a true gem in "Bad Days collection". And I am somehow disappointed about the way some of my colleagues behaved. But... We'll see where things go.

And I have to say I really managed to take my mind OFF things for a while. I happened to have quite a nice... distraction in front of me. :)

And elections......... the way things are now it seems that the presently leading conservative party might win the elections, but it might not have enough allies to form a gov't. So there's still hope for us. I just hope that present coalition won't get another chance; we might drift too deeply in Bush-hood here.

I find it hard to imagine that a European government could be anywhere near as horrendous as what we've had here for the last 8 years! What is it that they stand for that gives you concern? Is the election this weekend?

Well... what scares me is the way they are trying to change the society... values, judging history, giving advantage to "our" people, not matter how incapable they might be, seeing media as their own property..... usual stuff like that.

And yes, it's this weekend.

So you think I should start taking pics of actual Ljubljana, not just tiny details? :)

That portal makes me think of Viennese Jugendstil which I guess is Art Nouveau with a particular edge to it... if there's more of this in Ljubljana, that's another reason for me to want to visit! a lot of this stuff failed to survive in Western Europe both because of newer phases of development and the bombings of various wars... (as you would know much better than I!)

Oh, a lot or Art Nouveau is still alive here. :)
