Empty Saturday.

I took this one on a bus while going home from my office. Yes, it was Saturday and I had to work. It happens.

Interesting that it's also in English. You aren't bi-lingual (are you?), so is that sort of a lingua franca? Or do you get a lot of dumb American tourists there? =D

Whatever the case, I'm happy I can read it. Yay exiting buttons!

Languages and Slovenia.... it's a funny story, because it's a really small country with only 2 million people, so some other laguages happen often. Most of the country is not bilingual, except for the two areas - western coast is Slovene/Italian and some parts of northeast are Slovene/Hungarian because of the minorities that live there.

Another funny thing: some of our documents, like driving licence, are done in Slovene and French. Not Italian, not German, not Hungarian, but French. So, there's also "Permis de conduire" in my wallet. It's funny, because languages, taught as "second" in schools, are English and German. Go figure.

And... buses, lifts, trains, public lavatories and such all have signs in more languages; English obviously being the most universal of them all.

And, yes...... we get tourists..... of all kinds. But strong € has somehow cleared our shores. LOL

Ok... so I'll keep grainy look :)

Izstop does mean exit
Vstop means enter
Stopinja means step
Stopiti meant to step
Iz means out
V means in

So.... :) Video post with first Slovene lesson will probably happen tonight.
