Holiday Intermezzo #1 - Underworld.

Ok... another short break - I will post pictures (and some words) from the last three days in Rovinj/Poreč in Croatia soon, but first: here's my first attempt at underwater photography. Well, "photography" might be a rather big word for these pictures, because I used a single use 20€/$30 cam, which resembled a little plastic box with two yellow buttons. It looked rather shabby and pictures do that "shabby" thing all the justice. But it was fun nevertheless. And if you really pay attention to some pictures (oh, all taken on island Brač), you might even see some fish. Odd, huh? :)

very cool, I love taking underwater pics, it's been a while since I've had a chance to.

Thanks! :)

Given the shitty cam they came out reasonably well, I think.

they came out great for a crappy cam actually. I've had quite a few underwater cams over the last 20 years. I usually have a regular camera and a separate underwater camera. Tho.... there's a new digital a friend had on the cruise in Feb that was a very nice digital *and* was waterproof down to 10 meters, which is more than plenty to me. If I'm more than 10 meters under water I have a whole lot more to worry about than if my camera is going to work LOL

ugh.... 10 meters is way beyond what I can do. LOL

So, who knows when I might do it again. I think I am more of a surface creature. :)

oh, I am *totally* a land based mammal. After 3 near drowning experiences I've learned to avoid any water more than a few feet deep LOL

Oh, I love water in all its forms. I guess I am just not a diver. :)

I love being in the water too (as long it's warm LOL) but am not a very good swimmer.

I am pretty decent swimmer, but dark, deep, cold water is still somehow.... stay out stuff. :)

if I walk from land into the water I seem to be fine and don't freak much if it gets 2 to 3 meters deep. But OMG, the times I've been out on snorkel trips where they are in the middle of the ocean with no land... eeeeeeeeek... the last time I did that they had to rescue me, it was horrible :(

But..... they rescued you and that's all that matters. So, when you come here, I'll keep you in shallow waters, ok? :)))

Wow! You absolutelly have to take your sub-cam to Strunjan. Plenty really fine underwater things to shot. A lot of fish and other animals swimming just beside you.

Other animals, yes.... but the water just might not be clear enough to see it ALL. :)
