Thirty smiles - Take 25 - Decaffeinato time

It's been quite a busy Sunday. We stayed at home, because I had a whole lot of translating to do. And taking care of the birds and the fish (the Eagles and the Sharks, as I call them) and taking care of those few plants we still haven't managed to kill and having my brother over for a chat and chatting a bit on iSpQ and LJing a bit and stuff like that. And drinking probably way too much coffee. And since it's almost midnight here and since I almost ran ouf of time for a daily smile, I just escaped in the kitchen to make me a decaf (I do want to sleep a bit tonight) and to take a few pics of my all-time-favourite house appliance - my Nespresso coffee machine (and capsules actually LOL). So... a smile and some late night coffe-time! Enjoy! Hope your weekend was GREAT!!!

A friend of mine has a Nespresso machine and loves it to death.. I keep debating getting one but I dunno... I'd really have to work to adjust my routine to use it in the mornings. (It's a lot easier to just try and get out the door a little earlier and have someone else make my coffee for me.)

Oh, I also love my machine to death. The thing is I am really not a morning person and the first coffee just gives me the so needed boost to open my eyes. When I wake up in the morning, I crawl my way to the bathroom, with my eyes still closed, just turn the machine on and while going back prepare my first potion of the day.

And then I open my eyes and start to live. And trust me...... this coffee is GOOD! :)

Oh I know the coffee is good.. and so easy, just drop it in, throw the handle and you're set.
May. 11th, 2008 10:46 pm (UTC)
Exactly..... and I am as good as new :)

It's also damned expensive
30 cents for a cup, plus the at least 100 that the machine costs...

I have an old Saeco-like... 250 g of special coffee for it cost only 1.50 EUR... and I can make 50 cups - 10 times less

It might a bit on the more expensive side, but it's so darned good and the variety of tastes...... MMMMMMM, I say, MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

And really low effort to prepare a fresh cup. Lift, insert, close, press, press, open, drink. :) Nothing to clean basically. :)

Yes... I am lazy.

I can't deny it's practical. And it is good coffee... But it's outrageous :(
May. 12th, 2008 12:24 pm (UTC)
It's not outrageous...... for example - I will leave other home made cofee aside for now: coffee machine at our radio station offers two kinds of coffee: "ordinary" (some no-name Italian brand) is 25c, Illy is 45c. Coffe (espresso without any milk or anything extra) starts at 1€ in Ljubljana. So, 30c (34 to be exact) is not too much for a great cum of coffee. I am a coffee freak, I want it good.

And I am a bit spoiled. It's fun! :)

Offer: Carrefour had them at 27cents yesterday

Well.... I've got some 300 capsules at home..... I need to finish those first. Might take a couple of months.
May. 13th, 2008 10:50 am (UTC)
Where did you get so many?
May. 13th, 2008 10:59 am (UTC)
I paid for them :) actually, ordered them by mail and I also still have some I bought in Graz. I want to have a few boxes of each taste I like.

Can't deny. :)

FYI - my favourite five:
1. Capriccio (green) - fantastic aroma and rich creamy taste. Ideal in combination with whole milk.
2. Roma (grey): intense, morning coffee. Strong taste.
3. Volluto (golden) - my preferred late aftenoon coffee. Light and slighty acidic.
4. Goroka (pink) - this year's Limited Edition. Probably the best smelling coffee of them all, yet I find its taste a bit too light to make it my #1.
5. Ristretto (black) - when everything else fails to give me a boost.

As I said, you're an addict!
May. 13th, 2008 12:53 pm (UTC)
Indeed...... but not a nespresso addict.... a coffee addict :)
May. 13th, 2008 12:54 pm (UTC)
For 30 cents I get dirty water at work, which I'm drinking now. Yuck
May. 13th, 2008 12:56 pm (UTC)
so I made my point? :)

it's not outrageously expensive then...........
May. 13th, 2008 03:07 pm (UTC)
It is... For home... At work they would never get us that...
May. 13th, 2008 03:09 pm (UTC)
It isn't, I insist. :)

I was toying with the idea of dragging something like that into office.... but we'd need a bigger, heavy duty, much more expensive machine. :)
May. 13th, 2008 03:47 pm (UTC)
My best friend, my boyfriend, my best married couple of friends have nespresso!
May. 13th, 2008 04:08 pm (UTC)
And this addict in Slovenia also has one! :)

So, it's a BIG thing! :)
May. 12th, 2008 03:40 am (UTC)
what are all those colored cups?
May. 12th, 2008 06:17 am (UTC)
These capsules are filled with coffee. You insert them in the machine and high pressure does the trick of making a coffee. It's basically an espresso machine. Different colours mean different tastes of coffee. The lighter the colour, the lighter the coffee (not as far as caffeine, but as far as the taste goes). So I usually start my day with a black variety (Ristretto) and go all the way to the light golden Volluto. :) Ahhh the pleasure. :)

May. 13th, 2008 03:16 am (UTC)
nice bicep! and the smile is awesome!!!
it wouldn't hurt to do this for 365 days!!!
May. 13th, 2008 06:07 am (UTC)
Thanks! :)

Trust me.... it WOULD hurt... after these 30 days are over it might be a safe bet not to see a picture of me for quite a while. :)
May. 13th, 2008 12:12 pm (UTC)
i could tell that the 30 days was annoying.
it was really nice from this end!
May. 13th, 2008 12:15 pm (UTC)
