Autumn and Chestnuts.

Yes, that was the "title" of the evening. Matjaž invited us over for some chestnuts (and loads and loads of excellent food and wine) and some music and some films and some good ole time. It was a well-needed break from the hell of last weeks. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I only live for the weekends.

There is this cookbook from around 1972 that has a recipe in it for chestnut soup. You roast the chestnuts, put them through some kind of food processor, and cook them up with a cream veggie stock. I have only had it once, for a Thanksgiving gathering, and it was sublime. Maybe I'll post the receipt in your honor.

I love the photos of you dancing. You are such a beautiful sensual man. If I ever meet you, I would love to show with my body, not just my words, my appreciation of how beautiful and FUN you make this sometimes dreary world of humans and their natterings and neuroses.

Chestnuts..... We ate some of them. Roasted snd Matjaž also made risotto with chestnuts and cognac. Om nom nom LOL

Looks like a fablouse weekend..I see you slit the chestnuts befor you roasted them..not like I did the first time.took me weeks to clean the oven & kitchen :-)

Did you do the jockstrap performance for everyone or just for us (fortunate LJ folks?)

I love chestnuts. Only had them from a can or sealed bag - I don't think I've ever gotten them 'fresh' like you have here. The risotto with chestnuts and cognac sounds amazing. I'd love to try that. Can you send a recipe? We make lots of risotto at our house (B is VERY good at making it), primarily with shallots and shrimp (or chicken if on a budget....)
