A weekend that was.

It's Thursday and I have finally found some peace and time to look back (again) in the last weekend. My goodness, time are really wild right now, so a weekend like the last one is my soul-food. And, of course, it was a long over-due weekend bearing one big word written all over it...

PROSECCO

Just so that you know how I felt this weekend. This comes from wine.com:

You enter any good restaurant in northern Italy. You sit down. Before you can unfold your napkin, a waiter is pouring you a glass of sparkling wine. You begin to protest, but then you look around. Everyone is drinking it. Two delightful things are happening. You are experiencing culture shock, and you have just discovered Prosecco. Your first sip validates that there is a higher and older wisdom at work here. The Italians know much better than you that Prosecco's bubbles will start the meal with a festive flair, that it will stimulate your appetite, that it will work perfectly with your antipasti, and that you will smile when you see the price on your tab. For the record, Prosecco is the name of the grape and the wine. It comes from the Veneto Region, roughly between Verona and Venice. When you think of Italian sparkling wine, you might imagine that they are all like Asti Spumante. Believe us, Col Vetoraz Prosecco has nothing to do with sweet wine. On the other hand, it is not as acidic as Champagne and will never hurt your stomach, nor is it neutral and thin like many Spanish sparklers. It is its own animal, and kind of a secret, though this is changing. This wine is uniquely Italian, completely versatile, never boring...

01 It started off rather nicely...
The Beginning.

08 And this is a decent one
The second part, apparently. R to L: Iggy, me, Ricky, Andrea. Berti was behind the camera.

07 And Seven was the number
Total toll: 7.

And for the rest... just flickr me. :)))

Well, Italy is so close to me, I can go there just about any time. But if I had to choose to leave Slovenia, I think Italy would certainly be in Top2 picks. :)

I have tried prosecco. I must try some again.
Usually, I buy something from Portugal called Vino Verde - similar, but not quite the same. I buy it 'cos it's cheap (but still quite good...)
But hey, what price happiness?

everyone in white shirts... was that planned or cosmic coincidence?

I know nothing of prosecco, but I had some mighty fine moscato last weekend that I really enjoyed. So rare for me cause I normally don't care for wines. I do however like prosuitto, which is not wine at all LOL

LOL... that really is pretty amazing. I know if Bob and I are about to go out and we both have on the same color shirt I make sure one of us changes, usually him LOL

and I will look for prosecco and give it a try. Again, I'm not a huge wine person but at least it's white. I don't like red wines at all, bleh! Oh, except for cooking, then red wines are marvelous... beef burgandy, merlot sauce, etc etc LOL

ok, I can do that... tho I'm really more a bourbon or rum drinker over wine. Wine often makes me sleepy bourbon makes me flirty, I guess it all depends who I'm drinking with which is better LOL

LOL! Very true.

I'm not much of a drinker but I love Moscato (plus it's from my corner of northern Italy)

I live an hour or 2 south of the Napa/Sonoma Valley and have a lot of family there. It's a huge wine region, but somehow I just never got in to wines despite growing up with vineyards all around me on my frequent visits with my family But... I do have to say, moscato is pretty yummy. I actually took a picture of the label so I would remember what it was, I've never done that before LOL
