Downs. And Ups.

Work has been really wild, but I had this one coming. Translating has been annoyingly intense, but it was me who said Yes. The cold and stuff nose and all just happened and they are slowly leaving me. The weather has been testing us wildly, but I guess that's October.

But at least we got some spectacular sunsets in the last few days. That alone was worth the trip.

It is gorgeous sunset season in Texas as well, but unfortunately I have broken both lenses for my Nikon D40X and am out of commission currently. These are beautiful however...

The first lens was when I was helping a friend out by taking shots of his artwork for his portfolio. I was mounting the camera on a tri-pod and did not have a firm enough grasp on it. The camera went face down onto a concrete surface. The second happened on my trip to Albuquerque a few weeks back. I had the 70-220 zoom in a padded back pack laying on a retaining wall while i attempted to get some macro shots of Russian Sage blooms with honey bees swarming on them. The backpack fell off the wall and shattered the lens, even though it was well padded - DOH!

So, now to get new lenses. This may have to wait until I get my year end bonus money...

nice... the first pic is a little intimidating though... if it were the Mid-US I'd think there was a Tornado coming at some point.
