Ok, time to run around again.

So, with the epic (well, for me at least) move safely completed it's time to see some other places again, right? And let me rub this in thoroughly. We're going to spend a week in one of the loveliest places on Earth, visiting two of the best people I know, Andre dede13  and Olivier. So, 26 April will see us flying from Ljubljana to Paris and then taking ultra fast TGV train to Marseille. We'll take the same route back on 2 May. Ok, might be too early to bring you some lavender, but I think... I will get the most of it anyway.

Provence, beware! :)

Two hours on an Embraer 145? Ouch!
Mar. 30th, 2010 03:45 pm (UTC)
As long as it says "vacation" written all over it, yes... and it's one hour and 55 minutes. LOL
Mar. 30th, 2010 04:21 pm (UTC)
Nice, hey are you working now?
Mar. 30th, 2010 09:25 pm (UTC)
I was. :)
Mar. 30th, 2010 04:47 pm (UTC)
Vacation again? It almost seems when we heard from you last, you were on skiing holiday in Italy!
Seriously, it sounds like fun. I'd be excited just for the TGV ride. I've ridden shinkansen in Japan and loved it. We're got nothing really comparable here in the US, sadly...
Mar. 30th, 2010 09:26 pm (UTC)
Well, one needs to keep with a certain rhythm, right? :) I rode some high speed trains in Germany. Interesting. I will tell all about TGV experience AND post blurry pics. :)
Mar. 30th, 2010 09:32 pm (UTC)
This is one of the proposals Obama is currently considering. I think it would be such a huge success in the USA
Mar. 30th, 2010 08:18 pm (UTC)
So you are running away from us again? :P
Mar. 30th, 2010 09:26 pm (UTC)
Why of course! :)

But I know. :)

Interesting that you book in English on Air France but French on SNCF. I don't know why I find that interesting but I do.
Mar. 30th, 2010 09:28 pm (UTC)
Well, both homepages offered English versions. Air France had a very thorough approach and execution, SNCF's English hasn't survived past the opening page..... :)
Mar. 30th, 2010 10:03 pm (UTC)
And no Slovenian? The nerve.
Mar. 30th, 2010 10:40 pm (UTC)
I'll say.

o c'mon
Il ne faut pas raler quand les Francais ont un succes! :-0.)

In all fairness, we would have to say that the Minitel (for those who remember) and SNCF are 2 of the public services France did right and, for once, put her ahead of the pack.

The TGV does not exist in the US. And come have a look at Amtrak's website and weep. SNCF est pour la France avant tout. Qui veut s'en servir a besoin de naviguer en Francais. C'est juste.

Same thing in Italy.

Re: o c'mon
je parle d'expérience, la navigation, les difficultés techniques entre autres, je connais !

I've had enough experience with the SNCF website to know what I am saying ! I am not the kind of guy to criticise without grounds :)

The train service in itself is very good, compared to many countries... it's just the website.

But T&I will experience the great TGV train by themselves !

Re: o c'mon
Bien entendu, je ne te doute pas! Je connais moi-meme. Je dis ca comme ca parce qu'ailleurs, c'est pas mieux. Il faut s'y faire. C'est tout :-.)

But T&I will experience the great TGV train by themselves ! - With sex on board, I hope LOL

It's all good :-.)

I can't believe you will be passing through Paris when I will not be here! One day we will get our timing right ;)
Mar. 30th, 2010 09:44 pm (UTC)
I am sure we will.

I would LOVE to meet you in person.
Mar. 31st, 2010 02:22 am (UTC)
Yes, if you were traveling a month later, there would have been a chance of meeting up with us in Paris. Aah well, someday.
Mar. 31st, 2010 06:20 am (UTC)
We'll see what we can do. Europe just ain't that big. :)
Mar. 31st, 2010 04:18 pm (UTC)
Well, we are hoping to be back in a couple of years on a "Let's visit friends" tour. Whatever works for you.

I'm not looking forward to my flight to the US - its a *long* trip as you pay a lot more to fly direct to San Diego so I have a change in Houston and I wanted to make sure I had plenty of time in case of delays... It'll be worth it to see Roy though :)
Mar. 30th, 2010 10:41 pm (UTC)
It definitely is worth it. :)
Mar. 30th, 2010 11:15 pm (UTC)
Yay for holidays and for Provence (and for you two of course!)
Mar. 31st, 2010 06:21 am (UTC)
So whole lot of YAYs we all deserve, right? :)

We've only got one life to waste. :)

My first trip outside of the UK was in 1985 to Aix-en-Provence (as a student on a field trip). We also went to Marseille, and after the field trip was over, we took a ferry from Marseille to Corsica (had my first man-to-man kiss there!).

So - I wish you well in Provence, too!
Mar. 31st, 2010 06:21 am (UTC)
So good memories, right?

Oh, I love Provence... And I already know what I want to see this time. :)

Before During and After. I want to see it all!

Cheers and safe travels.
Apr. 2nd, 2010 10:05 pm (UTC)
Oh, you will see them all. :)
Mar. 31st, 2010 05:59 am (UTC)
Congratulations on a successful move... I bet you're glad it's over. Did the budgies survive the move too? :-)

And I'm sure France IS one of the loveliest places on earth... but from the pictures you post, it seems Ljubljana and Slovenia are pretty high up there.

As is Australian and New Zealand of course! *wink*
Mar. 31st, 2010 06:23 am (UTC)
Thanks, Dom. Plase is all red. :) And budgies seem to LOVE it, given their loud chirping, screaming even sometimes. LOL

Ljubljana and Slovenia are definitely nice, but it's nice to change the setting now and then. A bit. :)

Mar. 31st, 2010 02:16 pm (UTC)
Oh...That is awesome!!! : )
Apr. 2nd, 2010 10:06 pm (UTC)

And we are really really really to see you again soon.
Apr. 2nd, 2010 02:04 am (UTC)
After this, let's plan for the NY trip. Yes? :-.)
Apr. 2nd, 2010 10:09 pm (UTC)
yessir! :)
Apr. 3rd, 2010 05:09 am (UTC)
Well, I'm not twisting your arm, am I? You wanna come, don't you?

Speaking of which, did you get my reply to you on our private mail? Give me a feedback, please (i.e. your dad's work & our collaboration on my collection). Thanks :-.)

I need a few days to send you the pillows layout. I'm racing with time on my own work right now. It'll all be worth it. But, my god, it's a lot of work! Pffttt!

HUG :-.)

Re: :-.)
Yes, I do. :) And, yes, reply will appear sometimes today.

So be good! ;)

Re: :-.)
Do you mean to say that I'm BAD?

... ok, I am.

... Sometimes.

... ok. all the time >./

... ok. most of the time.

cuz bargaining is our last salvation :-.D

Whatever that means?!!

So long that there is love, there is trust. All is well in the world.

How's that for a busy Lao-tsu - which is a contradiction in terms = me. Yes. ME. I know, it's hard to love me. Only saints do :-.0) (Wink!Wink!)
