Well, we might get some real frost and snowfall next week, meaning the Autumn explosion might soon be gone. So, before you get tired of me getting a hardon on how pretty this season is, here is my - probably - last Autumn f-blog of 2009. But I am not promising anything. Oh, by the way, Dragon is a symbol ob Ljubljana. If you are keen on knowing why, click HERE.

The Dragon Bridge. Well, not the complete bridge. :)

Near my bus stop.

City park, Tivoli, #1.

City park, Tivoli, #2.

A view of the historic centre from the castle, Tivoli in the back.

Just a detail.

Oh, look, a dargon! Ljubljana city flag.

By the river Ljubljanica. Food market on the right.

I remember the Dragon Bridge - and that it's near a horse meat restaurant - Crazy Horse or Hot Horse, or something like that..
Nov. 1st, 2009 10:51 pm (UTC)
Yes, it's close to Hot Horse - which I totally ignore. :)

I know it's hypocritical because I eat beef and chicken, but I don't think I could bring myself to eat horse....just my cultural background...
Nov. 1st, 2009 10:55 pm (UTC)
Horses are too pretty to be eaten. :)
Nov. 1st, 2009 11:03 pm (UTC)

Oh, what a beautiful dragon! Shame on Jason for killing it! LOL

I LOVE the red leaves, and the yellow ones too (wondering what the tree in photos 3 and 4 is). Surprised? ;)

Half of the trees in my neighbourhood are still green.

I haven't seen the historic centre by daylight, right? I miss ljubljana!

Leaves are splendid. :) Number 3 is beech, totally clueless about the fourth one. Chocolates come from the historic centre. :)

So very beautiful.

What a lovely capture of fall, and all the other shots...

Stunning, really.

Thanks, Todd! I've gone completely insane with Ljubljana in Autumn in 2009. I need to stop. :)

Ljubljana is full of dragons, this one is - for me - the loveliest. :) So, when do I see pics of your city?
Nov. 1st, 2009 03:57 pm (UTC)
If only Jason had asked directions, he wouldn't have taken a wrong turn. Not much has changed in 3000 years.

Great photos. I love the dragon.
Nov. 1st, 2009 10:54 pm (UTC)
Well, people never learn...... :)

Thansk, Ken, dragon rocks!
Nov. 1st, 2009 04:03 pm (UTC)

Ljubljana was happy to have you here. And I was even more happy. And I want to see you again. In Denver and in Ljubljana.

Many many hugs

This sounds like a plan to me. I'd love to have you over here and I'd love to come visit you in Ljub again.
And I'd love to share some lovely red wine with you and chill for hours and or days. You are a genuine nice man, so very easy to be around and with.

Cheer and hugs.

Takes one to know one, right? :)
Nov. 2nd, 2009 12:26 am (UTC)
You know I love views of the city from the heights, don't you?

Maybe, just maybe, I'll take that walk up the hill and get a picture of Ljubljana myself from that vantage point!
Nov. 2nd, 2009 06:49 am (UTC)
I have to correct you there... You definitely will go up that hill. If you don't feel like walking, then it's a cable car thing. :)
Nov. 2nd, 2009 10:48 am (UTC)
I need the walk....
Nov. 2nd, 2009 10:50 am (UTC)
Ok.... a nice 10 minute walk from the old town is all that takes. :)
Nov. 2nd, 2009 04:12 am (UTC)

Nov. 2nd, 2009 10:06 am (UTC)
Perhaps? Just perhaps? :) I think it should be a must. I might offer some fog today.............

Nov. 2nd, 2009 09:31 pm (UTC)
Yes, changes are so pretty this year...
Nov. 3rd, 2009 07:03 am (UTC)
I love how (some?) Europeans just accept they're hemmed in and deal with it. What a beautiful city!
Nov. 3rd, 2009 07:27 am (UTC)
Well.. you have to deal with it somehow. :)
Nov. 24th, 2009 11:50 pm (UTC)
Another beautiful series, from a beautiful city! I just may have to visit some day... I would love to walk by the river on a day like the one you reveal here with such superb grace.

I also saw here a beautiful snapshot of the fogbound castle, a harmony in pearl and velvet and grey, Whistler might have called it--thanks to the old movies I loved as a child and still love today, I have a real "thing" for castle battlements, especially shrouded in mist...

Ljubljana is a really pretty city and I am sure you'd enjoy it a lot. The city and the peaceful life it offers.
