Ants with masks?

I passed by one of downtown restaurants today as the doors opened and an explosion of Japanese tourists took the pavement. Some of the ladies were wearing masks, which is not a very common sight in Idontgiveafuck Slovenia. I was following the group for a while, observing faces of people going by. Suprised looks, eyes wide open, eyes rolling, little smiles, laughs, younameit. The comment of the day came from a mid 40's lady: "Good Lord, they live in a bloody antheap and she's wearing the thing here?" I smiled too. A lot.

Now please.... and these mask should offer some protection? If someone feels so terrified by the world in general they should stay at home and bathe in Spitaderm. :)

LOL!
The masks are ugly. They wear them here too. I wonder how much protection they actually provide.

Funny....

I've went to Tokyo about 10 years ago. The close proximity of the people there makes this type of thing understandable. The sight of 8am rush hour at Shinjuku station was something I'll never forget.

Ants indeed.

Yes, they live close to eachother and they should better be used to it. :)

The masks offer no protection from diseases. If anything the condenstation from your breath that accumulates on the mask acts like a cesspool of germs and plague that you just keep inhaling.

The masks were originally used as a filter from the bad city air in many Asian cities.

I would have bust out laughing at that comment!
Too funny.

People are and can be so damn dumb.

Maybe they are afraid of the pure mountain air?

A lot of that mountain air in the city today. Northern wind was blowing and it was crispy and clear and cold. :)

Are you sure they were Japanese and not Chinese? I had a Chinese roommate in college that would walk around campus with a mask on. I always avoided her when I saw her in public.

Oh gosh, to wear a mask in mountain air should be a crime. Maybe they are sensitive to fresh air :)
