"He's gay used 2 mean he's happy."

And so it seems I am both today. Gay and gay. Or whatever. The last few days were pretty intense - work-wise and translating-wise, so I just couldn't spend my usual amount on time on LJ. And elsewhere. And today two items really made my day. They really did. Sometimes it's bizzare how material stuff can make us happy. But I guess it's the giver in me. I really enjoy giving stuff to people, so I enjoy getting it, too. Ok, in my case it "buying it" most of the time, because people don't seem to be the way I am. Whatever.

First just a picture. Just because I like it.

Make my day Item #1

I was really thrilled when I got my new Canon EOS 450D last July, but it soon became obvious I should have taken a slightly larger step and get a more serious cam. And it happened today. Canon EOS 50D is finally mine and I am all smiles. And the "old" 450G landed in Iggy's hands, so we're both happy, right? And that's all that counts.

Make my day Item #2

Oh, yes, my NikeID shoes arrived. To cut the long story short. It's another love affair. And since you have seen many cams already and not that many custom made hopefully unique Nike's, here are a few more shots.

Yes, someone please kill me, or take money away from me. Although.... after today's purchase I might stay low for a while.

Those are pretty fancy shoes.
I might have laughed at them earlier, but I like them. :)

See? All you need to do is trust me. Will you ever learn? :)

Thanks, A!

Oh, your new shoes are a work of art. And I like the candle photo too - I LOVE it.

Thinking of happy Tomaz and happy Igor brings a big smile to my face. :)
Mar. 10th, 2009 10:03 pm (UTC)
hehehehehehe I spent entire 10 minutes "designing" them. And they came out better than I had imagined, I must say.

Happiness should be Universal.

You can always send me money if you get tired of buying shoes, but I have an idea that neither of those is going to ever happen.
Mar. 10th, 2009 11:01 pm (UTC)
But if I get tired of buying shoes, is there another mission in life to keep me busy?
Mar. 10th, 2009 11:05 pm (UTC)
Kapitalist whore!
Mar. 10th, 2009 11:06 pm (UTC)

You are SO right!

Because we all deserve it, right? :)

I'm a Nikon person like mikiedoggie, but this looks like a nice camera. I plan on upgrading soon. I do like my D40, but the I need more flexibility (like changing settings on the fly instead of going through an on-screen menu).

I expect you to use that camera in all situations. ;)
Mar. 11th, 2009 06:47 am (UTC)
It's a great cam... I've been teasing myself with it for a few months now. It was mostly because of the fact I bought my previous 450D last summer, but... I couldn't help it. And I made the right move. One of HUGE pro's is also what you mentioned - changing settings is a poetry. :)

Oh, and I will use it in all situations.
Mar. 11th, 2009 01:10 am (UTC)
I'd been wondering what your tools of choice were in creating such inspirational work!
Maybe one day soon, I'll upgrade from my trusty ol' Powershot!
Mar. 11th, 2009 06:48 am (UTC)
You should have asked. :) I still have powershot S2. It's a lovely cam. Still take it with me now and then.
Mar. 11th, 2009 01:22 am (UTC)
Nice shoes.... GREAT CAMERA!!!!

Congrats on both.
Mar. 11th, 2009 06:48 am (UTC)
Thanks, E! :)

I am happy because of both! :)
Mar. 11th, 2009 03:56 am (UTC)
Jeese, how many pairs of shoes did you buy in the last two months? :o)
Mar. 11th, 2009 06:48 am (UTC)

the NYT review because nobody's gonna be reading this
So it's just us.

I'm not pinching my nose. They look like you. And you love them which is all that matters, and I can see the little grrrl in you jumping up and down in them :-0.) The trim makes it. Cute! So: How much?

NOTICE: If you love that, and I have to say that it's you - don't EVER complain about or refuse to wear anything I ask you to wear. OK? :-.0)

That is all.

Monogram shoes. Hmmm... Unless you own the line. Well, maybe not. It looks like a logo that works. I like it. NO "!". But I like it. I can see how they go with the rest of your wardrobe.

Translating what?

Re: the NYT review because nobody's gonna be reading this
Translating.... my extra job is translating subtitles for HBO, National Geographic and Discovery Channel programs here. :)

Re: the NYT review because nobody's gonna be reading this
Nice! Gimme some links? I wanna see. Thanks!

And gimme a link to your latest braodcast, please? I love to hear you talk. Hvala!
Jan. 16th, 2010 01:59 pm (UTC)
Re: the NYT review because nobody's gonna be reading this
Stuff I translate ends on NatGeo (HBO...) cable TV here or on DVD's... so I guess no special links.

And I need to find a good sample of me talking. LOL I will prepare an mp3 and email it to you. :)
Jan. 16th, 2010 07:00 pm (UTC)
Re: the NYT review because nobody's gonna be reading this
OK. One loves to talk. One loves to hear = perfect! :-.0)

But I want to hear your actual work. You don't have to make up stuff. Just the broadcasts are fine. Hvala!

Re: the NYT review because nobody's gonna be reading this
I will prepare mp3 of actual broadcasts, of course. :)

Re: the NYT review because nobody's gonna be reading this
Naaaaaaah I'll make you download them. Am I not worth it, uh? LOL

Re: the NYT review because nobody's gonna be reading this
O, you!... you. NOOOOO! :-.(

*scream of pain*

Yes, you're worth it. Of course, you're worth it. But do I have to suffer to love... you?

Hey, the best line I think I've written spontaneously in these conversations: "Yes, my drug. I miss your mails. Hurry with the needles." I think that's gonna be a t- shirt! LOL
Jan. 23rd, 2010 11:06 pm (UTC)
Re: the NYT review because nobody's gonna be reading this
And what a great t-shirt this will be. :)))))))
Jan. 23rd, 2010 11:54 pm (UTC)
Re: the NYT review because nobody's gonna be reading this
Would you wear it? I left some comment in the last thread. Gimme your thoughts there! :-.0)

Unrelated: I'm watching Euronews... cuz there's so much interesting things on CNN, and a Slovenian (forget about the name! They never showed it) just won 2nd place in the slalom. Do you know who that is? He should be famous in Slovenia.

I have not skied since the 80's! I need to rollerskate again - at least. Blah!
Jan. 24th, 2010 12:03 am (UTC)
Re: the NYT review because nobody's gonna be reading this
Of course I would wear it. I also wore first-punch t-shirts like "I fucked your boyfriend". :)

Young chap was good, yes. It's funny, this was his first major run, so isn't "big" yet.

Speaking of skiing. Next Saturday... I'll sit by the fireplace in our almost villa in French Alps, sip some bourdeaux, and get my mind ready for the first day of our skiing week. :)

Re: the NYT review because nobody's gonna be reading this
you own that villa in the French Alps? I wanna go! Obviously, some pix?

I fucked your bf tee - O! I sprayed on the back of that t-shirt one time at a party the antidote "And he didn't like it!" LOL For real! I spray-painted that guy and he never knew it. But, yeah, that's a fun gay tee.
