America!!!

Ok. This is certainly not America, but it's St. Lawrence's window on island Gozo next to Malta. I am still on vacation, but I was hardly waiting for the most important news in years. And people of America did a good job. Let this hole in a rock symbolise a new start, a new hope, a well needed change.
You did great! :-)

Ha. I found a beautiful wallpaper of that place, and always wondered where it was. Now I know. :)

I can send you a full size, cam picture when I come home in two days. The place is really amazing - they also call it Azure Window.

Ahhh. The wallpaper I had was titled "Azure"... but it was also a very rich blue, so I thought that's why.

Thank you! I'm confident that this will be a great thing for our allies and other countries. I'm also hoping that we can make progress w/ the folks who don't like us so much.

And then you were. :) Yes, I think the times ahead will be quite interesting. All who were BushThis, BushThat will now have to act differently. Slovenia also prepared "US elections" and Obama was a clear winner.

I hope that people give him time. He does things very thoughtfully and methodically. For example, we didn't really know that states like Virginia, Indiana, and possibly North Carolina (he's ahead, but it's still too close) might go for Obama until maybe a few months ago! Hell, few thought that it was even possible. It took a lot of slow, steady, and determined work to make that happen-and I think that's how he'll accomplish his agenda. Also, he really should act very moderately for the first year or two to solidfy his support and win some more Republicans to his side. And THEN he can give us a nationalized health plan, bring the troops home, shift the tax burden back to corporations and the rich, move us away from a petroleum based ecomony and..and..and! ;)

Expectations might be high, yes, and the tasks ahead of him are enormous, but I think that the will and wish and desire for changes were so big that people will give the new president enough time to show what he's really capable of. I was really happy this morning when I checked what was going on.

I am expecting fundamental change. The change that I want will mean that Americans can use credit to buy a bunch of crap and a new car every year. We might lose a car manufacturer or two. Oh well. We can't live this way any more.

Doors to heaven..... well, Maltese are very religious, but I'd pick some other "door to" phrase. :)

This picture is okay, but it was taken with my mobile phone so it lacks the colours of the original setting. The real pictures will happen in a few days.

I was ovetaken by great emotions ... woke up at 5.30 to check the results ... and cried also ... in the morning cause the great victory ... in the afternoon cause the Preposition 8.
For me, as a GLBT activist it was a historical victory of the repressed, the confirmation tha we have to continue to hope and dream! i'm talking about Obama's victory. Let's see now, how will he work ... Hope he'll follow the dream ...
